The Departmental SEF within schoolcentre.net allows individual school departments
to complete the Evaluation questions of the Ofsted SEF relating to their
specific department. This enables headteachers and the senior leadership
team to entrust responsibility to each department and ensures all staff
contribute fully to the school improvement process.
Using the Departmental SEF, individual departments can record their departmental
evaluations, support them with evidence and create resulting actions. This
promotes a shared responsibility amongst the school for school improvement.
It is also an effective way for the senior leadership team to keep up-to-date with department improvements and ensure that their evaluations and evidence are reflected in the school’s SEF.
